Individual First Aid Kit (IFAK)
By Gideon T. Rasmussen, CISSP, CRISC, CISA, CISM, CIPP

Do you have a purpose-built first aid kit? It's a good practice to have a kit close by, especially when traveling to remote areas.

This is what I carry:

Maxpedition FRP First Response Pouch
Dermabond Medical Glue
Zip Stitch
T-Ring Finger Cut Kit
Band-Aids
PPE Gloves (2)
Leatherman Raptor Shears w/Holster
5" Hemostat Locking Forceps
CAT Tournament
SWAT-T Tourniquet
Mylar Survival Blanket
Gecko Grip Tape
Quick Clot EMS Rolled Gauze
NAAR Compressed Gauze
Nasopharyngeal Airway 28 French 7mm
Olaes modular bandage 4"
HyFin Vent Chest Seal Twin Pack

What you carry will depend on where you are going, what activities are taking place and who is with you.

Building an Individual First Aid Kit (IFAK) is a topic of great debate and like religion for some. This is what I take with me. Your mileage will vary.

Several of the items in this kit require medical training. Please take a First Aid Course.
